CIREBON Cirebon Regent Imron ensures that he still respects the legal steps of a state civil servant (ASN) within the Cirebon Regency Government, West Java who is suing the retirement age limit to the Constitutional Court (MK).
"Go ahead, that's his right as a citizen and as an ASN. We are in a democratic country, so the lawsuit is a natural thing," said Imron in Cirebon, Antara, Tuesday, September 23.
Imron emphasized that the lawsuit filed by the Head of Gempol Sub-district, Sri Darmanto, was part of the constitutional rights of every citizen, including ASN.
According to him, submitting a judicial review to the Constitutional Court is the right step because the rules regarding the retirement age limit are under the authority of the central government, not at the regional level.
"When it comes to retirement age, it must be submitted to the center. In the regions, they cannot decide, because the authority lies with the center," he said.
From the data collected, the employee submitted a judicial review of Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning State Civil Apparatus. The lawsuit is registered with Case Number 165/PUU-XXIII/2025.
The ASN is concerned with the difference in the retirement age limit between administrator officials who have stopped at the age of 58 with high leadership officials who can reach 60 years.
Imron ensured that he would not prevent his subordinates from taking legal action, because this did not violate the rules or obligations as ASN.
However, he admitted that he had not received an official report from the person concerned regarding the legal steps.
