Inaugurating Campus In North Jakarta, Pramono Warns His Staff Not To Disturb It

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the PTIQ Jakarta University located in Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta together with Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar.

In his remarks, Pramono asked the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to provide full support, especially in the licensing process and other administrative documents.

"I ask the Mayor to please oversee the permitting process so that construction can be expedited. I hope that one day, during my tenure, this university will be completed and I can interact with the students here. So, Mr. Village Head, Mr. Sub-district Head, don't let anyone mess around and disrupt this," Pramono said on Tuesday, September 23.

Pramono told his staff that he did not want this Islamic religious college to be caught up in problems in the next few decades because the licensing process was not properly supported.

"So, legally and administratively, let's ensure that this university truly becomes a well-planned university. I will step in to help with that," Pramono said.

On that occasion, Pramono revealed that the disparity between the rich and poor in Jakarta remains significant. He believes that an effective way to reduce this inequality is through equalizing education.

"That's why I'm concentrating on the education of Jakarta's children, from preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and university," he said.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government has allocated a budget for the distribution of assistance in the form of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus and the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) to more than 700 thousand students.

"No other province has issued scholarships to as many as 707,513 students in elementary, middle, and high school. As for higher education, Minister, we have now issued scholarships for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, totaling 16,979 students," Pramono explained.
