Not Yet Pocketed The Recommendation Of The Ministry Of Social Affairs, The Implementation Of People's Schools In Situbondo Postponed This Year

SITUBONDO - Implementation of the People's School program in Situbondo Regency, East Java, which is planned to be implemented this year has been postponed because it has not received a recommendation from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

Chairman of Commission IV of the Situbondo Regency DPRD Muhammad Faisol explained that initially the implementation of the People's School, which is President Prabowo Subianto's program, was implemented this year, but was postponed because there was no recommendation from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"Therefore, we will continue to strive for next year (2026) to be able to start the implementation of the People's School in Situbondo," said Muhammad Faisol in Situbondo, Antara, Tuesday, September 23.

Faisol said that in the near future the local DPRD will invite the Education and Culture Office, Social Service, and other related OPDs, to question the readiness to welcome the People's Schools that have been agreed with the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"Inviting the relevant OPD to find out the readiness of the Situbondo Regency Government regarding the People's School program next year, because next year we will try," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Situbondo Regency Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) Sopando Efendi admitted that he had prepared the need for Human Resources (HR) to support the implementation of the People's School program in the City of Santri.

"In addition to human resources, the location of the People's School has also been mapped, we have prepared the need for human resources, namely teachers who will teach at People's Schools," said Sopan.

Previously, the Situbondo Regency Government (Pemkab) had proposed two locations for the implementation of the People's School program. Two locations for People's Schools ranging from elementary, junior high and high school, which were proposed in Sliwung Village, Panji District, and at the Multipurpose Building in Patokan Village, Situbondo District.

The first location in Sliwung Village requires construction from scratch, because there is only land available. Meanwhile, the Multipurpose Building is only sufficient for junior high schools.
