Ahead Of The PPP X Congress: DPC Cimahi Still Chooses Muhamad Mardiono, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA The Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono was asked to return to lead the party bearing the Kaaba symbol. Because until now, Mardiono is considered the most worthy and realistic cadre to carry out the mandate.

"Kami DPC Cimahi mendukung Pak Mardiono memimpin kembali memimpin Partai Persatuan Pembangunan, beliau kader murni dan memulai karir dari bawah di partai ini. Tentu bukan seperti calon lain yang disecarakan justru berasal dari partai lain (PKB)," ujar Agus Solihin dalam wawancara bersama media, Senin (22/9/2025).

Integrity and Capability are also the main reasons for supporting part of the PPP in West Java to choose Mardiono to return to lead the party.

"He has integrity and capability, we are sure that Mr. Mardiono can bring PPP back to parliament in 2029," he explained.

Agus Solihin also mentioned other DPW and DPC cadres who support external candidates to occupy the position of General Chair. According to him, this should not be wrong to interpret the Party's AD/ART.

"I remind you not to get the wrong idea, if the external party runs for the General Chair, it is fine, but if the AD / ART is changed at this time, the external candidate can only run for the upcoming Congress or in five years," said Agus Solihin.

On 27-29 September 2025, PPP will hold the X Congress. One of the agendas is to elect the General Chairperson and the ranks of party administrators. Mardiono has a volunteer team called the Mardiono Winning Volunteer or RPM chaired by the former Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Amir Uskara.

Meanwhile, his rival, Agus Suparmanto, is an external cadre of PKB supported by the former General Chairperson of PPP Romahurmuziy who had ended his political struggle due to corruption cases.
