Netanyahu Says Palestinian State Will Never Be Realized

JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the recognition of the State of Palestine by several countries, emphasizing that a Palestinian state will never be realized.

He made this statement following the announcement of the recognition of the State of Palestine by the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Portugal on Sunday.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel's response to the recognition of the State of Palestine by the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada would be announced after his return from the United States this week.

"I have a clear message to the leaders who recognized the State of Palestine after the horrific massacre of October 7: you are giving a great gift to terror," Netanyahu said in a video statement, as quoted by The Times of Israel on September 21.

"That will not happen," he continued.

"A Palestinian state will not be established west of the Jordan River," Netanyahu asserted.

Netanyahu boasted that under his leadership, Israel "doubled Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), and we will continue this path."

"A response to the recent attempt to impose a terrorist state on us in the heart of our land will be given after my return from the United States," Netanyahu said.

"Wait," he said.

His coalition members are known to have openly pushed for Israel to annex parts of the West Bank, particularly the Jordan Valley.
