Bali Police: 14 Suspects Detained By Riots Are Not Demonstrators

DENPASAR - Bali Regional Police stated 14 people who were detained during a demonstration on August 30, 2025 in Denpasar, not demonstran, but rioters who aim to create chaos and damage public facilities.

"What we secure are the rioters who come to destroy and disrupt control by taking anarchic action and destroying public facilities, not protesters," said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, Tuesday, September 16.

Daniel said the perpetrators who were arrested during the demonstration were involved in acts of persecution, vandalism, theft, and endangering public safety and order.

The perpetrators were arrested during a demonstration in front of the Bali Police Ditreskrimsus building on Jalan Cambodia, Denpasar and in front of the Bali Provincial DPRD Office on Jalan Kusuma Admaja Renon, Denpasar.

He mentioned 14 suspects including 10 adults and 4 children.

The Regional Police Chief explained that based on the results of the investigation and investigation, the 14 suspects were strongly suspected of destroying the offices of the Bali Police Headquarters and the Bali Police Ditreskrimsus, including the destruction of the Police official vehicle belonging to the Denpasar Police Sat Samapta when they were about to enter the Renon DPRD office to secure the demonstration.

Several perpetrators also looted the contents of the National Police's official vehicle in the form of Huru-Hara Management equipment (PHH), as well as taking some ammunition from the Police's tear gas. In fact, the perpetrators also brought dangerous items such as Pertalite and Molotov cocktails that would be used to burn during the demonstration.

The Bali Police Chief stated that the arrest of the perpetrators was in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions through the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to take firm action against the anarchists in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Daniel stated in general that after the anarchistic demonstration on August 30, 2025, his party had secured 170 people in batches suspected of being provocateurs.

After carrying out the investigation and investigation process, the Bali Police named 14 suspects from two crime scenes. While the rest have been sent home.

Of the 14 suspects, 10 adults are currently being held at the Bali Police Detention Center and 4 child suspects have not been detained or returned to their respective parents.

However, children who are in conflict with the law according to the criminal justice system are required to carry out the diversion process and in social research by the Fathers.

The adult suspects are FI (19), AT (20), MT (25), AS (18), NR (18), KM (19), PB (18), RI (18), MR (18), and MF (18).

Meanwhile, the suspected children undergoing the diversion process were PY (15), KW (16), KA (16), and KL (17).
