JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo assessed that the number of fire incidents in Jakarta is a sign that several things in Jakarta still need to be addressed.
It is known, in 2025 from January to September there were 1,195 fire incidents in Jakarta.
"The fire incident indicates a number of unfinished homework," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Office, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 15.
The things that need to be addressed, said Pramono, are the implementation of a fire prevention program that has not been implemented optimally.
Not only that, but the early fire protection system that has been installed does not function properly and the lack of human resources capable of extinguishing the fire at an early stage is an anticipatory measure for fires.
Nevertheless, Pramono said that of the 1,195 fire incidents that occurred throughout 2025, 22 percent or 267 fires could be handled by the community.
Therefore, he expressed his appreciation for the involvement of all elements of society in tackling fires, especially around settlements.
"As the Governor of Jakarta, I sincerely express my gratitude and involvement of all elements of society so that it continues to be improved to ensure that fire management is carried out quickly, safely, and effectively," said Pramono.
