BMKG: A Number Of Cities In Indonesia Are Raining, Beware Of Lightning In Medan And Bengkulu

JAKARTA - This Saturday, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts cloudy conditions and rain in a number of Indonesian cities.

BMKG forecaster Hasalika Nurjana in an online weather forecast followed from Jakarta, Saturday, said that Jambi predicts that in Sumatra it will experience running air and thick clouds in Bandar Lampung while light rain falls in Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Padang and Tanjung Pinang.

He warned the public in Medan and Bengkulu regarding the potential for rain accompanied by lightning to occur within a certain period today.

"On the island of Java, thick cloudy weather is predicted to occur in the Jakarta and Surabaya areas. Light rain is predicted to fall in the Serang, Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta areas," said Hasalika, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 13.

In the Bali area, which had experienced flooding in several areas, the city of Denpasar is predicted to experience cloudy conditions today. Meanwhile, in Kupang there is cloudy weather and there is the potential for light rain in Mataram.

In the Kalimantan region, it is predicted that BMKG will experience running air conditions. With rain in a number of areas, namely light rain in Pontianak, Palangka Raya, and Samarinda as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Selor.

For Sulawesi Island, BMKG predicts thick cloudy conditions in Makassar, Kendari and Gorontalo with light rain in the Mamuju, Palu and Manado areas.

In eastern Indonesia, rain has the potential to fall in all major cities. With Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura and Jayawijaya, light rain is predicted. Moderate intensity rain has the potential to fall in Nabire and heavy rain in Merauke
