Gerindra Faction Bantah Rahayu Saraswati Resigns From DPR Because Of The Position Of Deputy Minister

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Gerindra faction of the DPR, Bambang Hariyadi, denied the reason why Rahayu Saraswati resigned as a member of the DPR because she was offered to become deputy minister in the Red and White Cabinet (KMP). Bambang considered the issue to appear as a 'fry' on social media.

"So we understand that social media is really very open and difficult, any issue can be done there. Sometimes we also have to be careful in responding to the social media issue," said Bambang at the DPR building, Jakarta, Thursday, September 11.

"In fact, we argue that in the future we also need a single, the accounts of every citizen can only have one account," continued the Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR.

Bambang assessed that currently many anonymous or buzzer accounts are also heating up the atmosphere through social media. Including calling Sara's resignation as a member of the council because she wanted to be used as Deputy Minister.

"We understand that the social media era is very little brutal, sometimes issues that are not right, sometimes eaten by frying in such a way that it has an influence on groups that are actually rational groups," he explained.

"So we think that in the future, hopefully, this will not limit democracy, but we must make it clear that in the future, people's social freedom will not be used as a means to framing negative for individuals or institutions," he continued.

Therefore, Bambang emphasized that the issue of President Prabowo Subianto's nephew to become Deputy Minister was not true. Moreover, according to him, the appointment of the Deputy Minister is in the executive realm, not the legislature.

"If we are related to the executive, it is not our domain, we in the DPR only have three domains, discussing laws, budgets, and also supervising the government. So it is not our main task force to interfere in the executive who forgets the prerogative of the president," he concluded.
