Ready To Welcome Prabowo, People's School In South Jakarta For Betawi Traditional Dance Training

JAKARTA - A number of students of the Jakarta 10 High School (SRMA) are preparing to showcase the skills of the traditional choir and dance to welcome the arrival of President Prabowo Subianto, Thursday, September 11.

SRMA 10, which is located in the Pusdiklatbangprof Complex of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Margaguna, South Jakarta (Jaksel), is one of the first three public schools to stand in the capital.

Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf together with Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo were seen guiding students wearing scout uniforms and some wearing traditional clothes complete with scarves. They will sing national songs and songs created by the People's School which are full of national spirit, as well as traditional dances of Betawi culture.

The appearance is part of preparations for welcoming the President's visit, which is scheduled to directly review learning activities and interactions with students at the school.

Based on information from the protocol, President Prabowo's visit aims to ensure that the implementation of the People's School goes well, including the facilities and infrastructure used.

Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo when discussed at the location said that this visit was the first to be carried out by the President since the initial phase of the People's School program began in the new academic year 2025/2026 last July.

In addition to witnessing the student's appearance, according to him, the President is scheduled to review classrooms, study facilities, and talk with teachers and educators about the teaching methods applied.

"The president is already on the road from Bogor accompanied by the Minister of State Secretary and Cabinet Secretary," he said.

The People's School Program as an effort by the government to provide wider access to education for children from families with the lowest welfare level (desil 1-2) in single national socio-economic data (DTSEN).

This People's School Program is also a miniature of integrated poverty alleviation because it combines various priority programs, such as Free Health Checks (CKG), Free Nutrition Food (MBG), health insurance, Red and White Village Cooperatives, and 3 million houses programs.

Hingga saat ini sudah terdapat 100 Sekolah Rakyat yang beroperasi di berbagai daerah.

The Ministry of Social Affairs as technical implementers targets that in the 2025/2026 school year there will be 165 public schools for elementary, junior high and high school / equivalent levels operating, bringing the total capacity of 15,895 students, supported by 2,407 teachers and 4,442 educators.
