JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno revealed that the DKI Provincial Government will hold a celebration ahead of 5 centuries of the establishment of the city of Jakarta with 500 points of activity. Hundreds of these events take place from this month until June 2027.
A series of activities to commemorate Jakarta's 500th anniversary spread across 267 urban villages. Rano explained that preparations for five centuries in Jakarta had been designed since the beginning of his leadership with Governor Pramono Anung.
"From the start, I was tasked with the Governor to prepare for the celebration of five centuries in Jakarta. I also discussed with Bappeda to form a special team, because this is a focus that cannot be done carelessly, but by people who are experts in their fields," said Rano at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, September 10.
Head of the Regional Cooperation Bureau (KSD) of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat, Marulina Dewi, explained that the 500th event ahead of five centuries in Jakarta collaborated with the private sector.
Marulina said the cooperation was oriented towards human development and culture which required the involvement of various stakeholders.
"This agreement is the legal basis for the parties to carry out cultural strengthening in human development in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Marulina.
"The scope of cooperation includes research in the field of culture, design of activation of cultural arts, development of human resources capacity, formulation of public policies in the field of culture, publication and graphic design, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of all activities," he added.
