The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil asked for non-budget funds from the procurement of advertisements at the West Java Regional Development Bank and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJB). The money was then used for personal purposes.
This was conveyed by the acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu when asked about a number of witnesses who claimed to have received money from Ridwan Kamil. Among them are Ilham Habibie who has been questioned for the purchase of his father's Mercedes Benz 280 SL, B. J. Habibie by the Golkar politician.
"Then how did RK get the money, at that time the person concerned served as Governor of West Java," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, September 9.
"Bank Jabar is one of the commissioners and the main director provides money for non-budget activities. One of these activities was requested by the officials in West Java Province," he continued.
The KPK once explained that the non-budget funds were obtained from the difference in paying for the procurement of advertisements by Bank BJB.
The agency company is suspected of returning the difference through the Corporate Secretary (corsec) Division of Bank BJB.
Meanwhile, when asked about when Ridwan Kamil was being investigated, the KPK said it was still necessary to collect information from a number of parties. Investigators are still looking into where the non-budget funds flowed.
"We are first confirming information related to the distribution of money, so that when we call RK, we will confirm it one by one. Confirmation is related to the purchase of a car, Mercy's car, confirmation of the money given to brother L, confirmation of the money given to other parties," explained Asep.
