Pramono Targets MRT To Be Connected To Tangerang In 5 Years

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claims that the DKI Provincial Government has made improvements to public transportation services. According to him, the modes of Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and the Jakarta LRT have been quite good.

Transportation connectivity in Jakarta, continued Pramono, also continues to be expanded until the buffer zone. Pramono targets the extension of the MRT Jakarta route from Lebak Bulus to the Tangerang area, Banten, to be realized five years from now.

In line with that, the DKI Provincial Government is building the MRT Jakarta phase 2A route with the HI Roundabout route to Kota. It is targeted that the Integrated Moda Raya route will be completed in 2027.

"The year 2029 will be completed until Ancol. Well, before Ancol is finished, we will start a new route from Banten. I think this will be a progress in transportation in Jakarta," he said.

On that occasion, Pramono also exhibited the achievements of Jakarta, which is now included in the series of cities with the best public transportation in the world according to Time Out. In 2025, this British travel magazine will be ranked 17th in a city with the best public transportation services globally.

Time Out explained, from the list of global cities with the best public transportation, only Jakarta and Singapore, cities in Southeast Asia are ranked at the top 19. Pramono said he was proud of this achievement.

"When Time Out, a credible institution conducted a survey of more than 18 thousand in 50 countries regarding public transportation. Jakarta is now number 17 and in ASEAN Jakarta it only lost to Singapore," Pramono explained.
