JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police Inspector General Pol Agus Suryonugroho ensured that all toll gates that had been damaged due to being affected by demonstrations a few days ago have now returned to normal operations.
This was conveyed by Agus after reviewing seven toll gates that were under repair, namely GT Slipi 1, GT Slipi 2, GT Pejompongan, GT Senayan, GT Semanggi 1, GT Semanggi 2, and GT Kuningan 1.
"We assure you that the toll gate is already running," Agus said in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, September 7.
Agus added that the police had prepared anticipatory steps to deal with the surge in traffic flow during the backflow of the long holiday of the Prophet's Birthday. "There is an increase in the flow. However, we have prepared a scenario starting from one way to switching the flow until it is under control," he said.
Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono revealed that of the seven toll gates that had caught fire, 17 automatic toll booths (GTOs) are now functioning.
"There are 17 GTOs that are functioning, and we hope that later on September 10, out of a total of 22 GTOs, the remaining five will be fulfilled soon. It is certain that all GTOs will run normally and in due course," he said.

Rivan emphasized that the process of repairing the physical building of the toll gate will continue without disturbing services to road users. "It is certain that all toll gates have been running normally, open as usual. Hopefully this will provide good service to the community while we will still improve physically because this physical takes a long time," he said.
