JAKARTA - A man caught on CCTV cameras breaking into a grocery store located on Jalan Kebantenan III, RT 06/05, Semper Timur Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Friday, September 5, 2025.

The theft was carried out by an unknown perpetrator. The theft was caught on CCTV cameras at the scene.

The victim is known to have the initials AS, a resident of Cilincing District, North Jakarta, finally reported the incident to the Cilincing Police.

Cilincing Police Chief, AKP Bobi Subasri said, based on the victim's statement, the incident occurred while he was sleeping while guarding a shop at Azka Shop.

"For this incident, the victim suffered a loss of Rp. 1 million. The money in the box was stolen by the perpetrator," said AKP Bobi when confirmed, Thursday, September 5, 2025.

The theft incident was only discovered after another buyer came to the scene at around 03.25 WIB.

"Ada orang ingin belanja datang ke warung, dia melihat jarong dan serokan sampah berada di tempatnya. Kemudian dilaporkan ke pejaga shop," katanya.

Furthermore, the victim, the shopkeeper, immediately recorded CCTV. As a result of the footage, the victim saw that the cardboard containing the money was gone or stolen by people.

"Kuta has made a report and asked for information from the victim and witnesses. We appeal to local residents if they see the theft incident, immediately report it to the police," he said.

Currently, the case is still in the process of being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police.
