Not Night In Beijing, Prabowo Immediately Returns To Indonesia

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto did not spend the night in China and immediately returned to the country after completing a working visit in Beijing.

President Prabowo arrived in Beijing on Wednesday (3/9) morning at around 04.00 local time.

Prabowo then attended a military parade to commemorate 80 years of victory in China's People's War Against Japan's Aggression and Anti-Fascist World War.

The parade, which lasted for about 70 minutes, involved more than 10,000 People's Liberation Army (PLA) personnel and more than 100 aircraft and hundreds of land weapons prepared in formation according to the wartime command system.

The latest weapons displayed include unmanned intelligence equipment and unmanned deterrent equipment, hypersonic missiles, directed energy weapons, electronic disruptive systems, fighter jets, stealth aircraft, and strategic weaponry capable of carrying out global attacks.

After attending the march, President Prabowo then received a lunch with President Xi Jinping and other heads of state and government at the People's Center.

A number of state leaders and government present include Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and others.

After that, President Prabowo held a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping for about 20 minutes in one of the rooms at the People's Center.

During the meeting, President Prabowo conveyed that the development of the domestic situation was increasingly stable. He was also happy to be with the Chinese people to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the fight against Japan.

"Indonesia and China are good friends, true friends. Relations with China are the top priority in Indonesia's foreign policy," added President Prabowo.

President Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for China's support so far for Indonesia's economic and social development.

"The relationship between the two countries is now in the best period in history. Indonesia hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of trade, investment, finance, and infrastructure, encouraging the achievement of more tangible results in relations between the two countries," said President Prabowo.

After completing the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo immediately headed to Beijing Capital International Airport to return to Indonesia.
