Menkum: Ojol Law Enforcement Process Killed By Rantis Brimob Handled By Police Propam

JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas said law enforcement on the case of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojek online/ojol) being run over by tactical vehicles (rantis) of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) was in the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

"This is not the authority of the legal minister to explain," Supratman said when met in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Therefore, he said this was the authority of law enforcement officers (APH), so that the Police Propam would solve the problem internally by the police.

Nevertheless, Supratman hopes that all parties can believe that the current government is serious about resolving everything related to various national problems at this time.

"Everything, President Prabowo has confirmed that. So it is very clear," he said.

Previously, the National Police's Propam Division held an ethics trial against Kompol K, one of the alleged violators in the Brimob ran over an ojol driver at the TNCC building at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Based on ANTARA's monitoring, Kompol K entered the courtroom at the TNCC Building at the National Police Headquarters at 09.25 WIB. The trial was closed.

In the ojol crossing incident during the demonstration, a total of seven Brimob personnel were named as suspected violators, namely Kompol K, Bripka R, Aipda R, Brigadier D, Bripda M, Bharaka J, and Bharaka Y.

Kompol K and Bripka R were determined to have violated the severe category, while five other personnel were determined to have violated the medium category.

Kompol K is the Commander of the Battalion (Danyon) Regiment IV of the Brimob Corps (Korbrimob) Police. He was a figure sitting next to a random driver during the collision incident.

Kompol K was proven to have violated the code of ethics and violated the severe category, while Bripka R as a random driver was also determined to have violated the severe category.

Personnel who fall into the category of serious violations can be prosecuted and threatened with dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).

Meanwhile, Bripka R is scheduled to undergo an ethics trial tomorrow, Thursday, September 4. Currently, the seven personnel are placed in special placements (patsus) starting from August 29, 2025 to September 17, 2025.

The Brimob rantis incident hit an ojol driver named Affan Kurniawan on Thursday, August 28, after various elements of society that held demonstrations around the parliament complex, Jakarta, were pushed back by the police.

As a result, riots occurred in various areas around the parliament complex, from Palmerah, Senayan, to Pejompongan. The random incident that hit the ojol driver was suspected to have occurred in the Pejompongan area.
