Mako Brimob Kwitang Area Conducive, Polda Metro Jaya Deploys 324 Personnel In Large-Scale Patrol

JAKARTA - Conditions around the Command Headquarters (Moko) of Brimob Kwitang, Central Jakarta, on Sunday night are conducive to smooth traffic flow and lighting the road is turning on normally.

At 22.00 WIB, a number of TNI personnel were still on guard at a number of points from the Simpang Senen to Tugu Tani areas. The authorities also patrolled using motorbikes and trucks carrying personnel.

Previously, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said his party was holding large-scale patrols to maintain security amid the rampant demonstrations in the past week.

A total of 324 personnel were deployed to 13 jurisdictions with three groups divided. The first group targeted North Jakarta, East Jakarta and Central Jakarta.

The second group served in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta and South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the third group reached South Jakarta to Depok.

"The Polda Metro Jaya ranks this afternoon carried out patrol activities and tonight will carry out activities again," said Asep Edi.

He emphasized that the authorities would take firm action but still be measured if they found anarchic actions in the field. The directives are in accordance with the instructions of President Prabowo Subianto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"This afternoon, the President has instructed the TNI and Polri to take firm action against the anarchists who damaged public facilities," said Asep Edi.

Previously, on Saturday (30/8), the streets around Mako Brimob had been pitch black after clashes between the mass of action and the police.

In addition, a number of houses of legislators to ministers were targeted by looting, including the houses of Ahmad Sahroni, Eko Patrio, Uya Kuya, Nafa Urbach and the house of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
