East Jakarta Police Denies Demonstrators Shot In Front Of Their Headquarters: Victims Don't Die, Still Being Treated At RSCM

East Jakarta Metro Police denied that two demonstrators were shot by live ammunition in front of the East Jakarta Police Headquarters.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Alfian said the information was not true and only caused unrest in the community. The victim was named Indra.

"It should be emphasized that the victim did not die. And the injuries suffered were not caused by live ammunition," said Kombes Alfian in his statement, Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The victim was previously referred from Hermina Hospital to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) after being seriously injured due to allegedly being hit by a blunt object.

According to the victim's statement to the medical team, he did not know for sure what object injured him. As a result of the incident, the victim fell unconscious.

Meanwhile, the results of the medical examination showed that Indra had severe pain, blurred vision on his right eye, open wounds, bruises on his face, and fractures on the head and face.

In addition, the doctor also found bleeding in the brain membrane and indications of damage to the right eye. "The victim has undergone emergency surgery to save his life and vision," he said.

The police chief appealed to the public not to easily believe information that had no clear source. "We ask the public to always verify and not spread hoax news that can cause unrest," the police chief appealed.
