Minister Of Health Budi Asks All Residents Of One Village With A Raya Will Be Given Electronic Medicine

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin instructed the Ministry of Health to distribute worm medicine to all residents who live in the same village as Raya, toddlers whose bodies were filled with roundworms and died.

Raya and her family live in Padangenyang Village, Cianaga Village, Kabandungan District, Sukabumi, West Java.

"I ask for all those in the village to be given worm medicine. So that they can recover. Because the worm is there and actually cheap," said Budi when met at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, August 25.

In addition, Budi ensured that all members of the Raya family who had tuberculosis or tuberculosis were given treatment until they recovered.

"Seeing that the existing family has TB, it must also be treated immediately because TB is very deadly," said Budi.

Previously, according to Budi, the cause of Raya's death was not caused by roundworms found in his body, but from severe infections that led to sepsis.

"Raya died not from worms, but from infections that spread throughout her body," he said some time ago.

Budi explained that severe infections that caused sepsis in Raya were allegedly triggered by diseases that had been suffered for months, such as prolonged coughs. He said the possibility of an initial diagnosis led to meningitis or tuberculosis.

"For three months, he coughed non-stop, his body weakened, so bacteria spread throughout the body. That's what is called sepsis," he said.

Although more than one kilogram of roundworm was found in the victim's body, Budi emphasized that this condition was not the main cause of death, but a companion factor that exacerbated the child's health condition.

In this case, Budi appealed to the public to take advantage of the government's Free Health Check program, including screening for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and worm infections.

"If found out earlier, it should not have died. It is very late. We want 280 million Indonesians to take advantage of the Free Health Check program," said Budi.
