Prabowo Kisses Ma'ruf Amin's Hand: A Warm Meeting In Depok Talks About Indonesia's Future

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto visited the 13th Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin at his private residence in Depok City, West Java, Sunday afternoon. The two discussed a number of national issues and the direction of Indonesia's development going forward.

President Prabowo, who wore a black safari and skullcap, immediately kissed KH Ma'ruf's hand upon arrival at the vice president's house in the second term of Joko Widodo's 7th Presidential government.

The meeting took place behind closed doors, but photos of the visit were shared through the official social media accounts of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

During his visit, the two leaders discussed and exchanged ideas about the direction of national development in the future. This visit also reflects the warmth of relations between national leaders and emphasizes the spirit of unity which has always been a solid foundation on Indonesia's journey, "said the official broadcast of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, August 24.

Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, as quoted from the official broadcast of the Cabinet Secretariat, also confirmed the meeting.

In several photos shared, President Prabowo was seen accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Teddy Indra Wijaya, both of whom were wearing black skullcaps and seemed to kiss KH Ma'ruf Amin's hand.

Meanwhile, KH Ma'ruf Amin through his official broadcast on Sunday night said the visit was a gathering.

"Alhamdulillah, I received a visit from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto. We discussed and exchanged ideas regarding the direction of future development, including the implementation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution that natural wealth must be fully utilized for the prosperity of all Indonesian people," said KH Ma'ruf Amin.
