Two other neighbors of the apartment unit who caught fire experienced shortness of breath and injuries to the wrist were also taken to the hospital.
About 50 people living in the apartment block were affected, then evacuated by police and SCDF as a precaution.
The initial findings of the SCDF regarding the cause of the fire are thought to have started with damage to private mobility equipment (PMA) or electric wheelchairs placed in the apartment unit's living room.
