Pramono Wants The Public To Be More Aware Of The Opponents Of Cancer

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the public to be more aware in fighting cancer. This was revealed in the inauguration of the Chairman of the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI) of DKI Jakarta Province for the period 2025'2028.

According to Pramono, the presence of YKI is important as a provider of health services, educators, advocates, as well as community assistants who need access to preventive information and cancer survivors.

"Let's build people who care more and are empowered against cancer. Together we will realize an increase in the quality of health in Jakarta," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, August 22.

Pramono emphasized the role of YKI as the strategic partner of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, especially in education, prevention, early detection, and assistance of cancer patients.

YKI Jakarta acts as a strategic partner of the DKI Provincial Government in carrying out various health programs. YKI has contributed to improving health and raising awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle," said Pramono.

The new chairman of YKI DKI Jakarta, Endang Nugrahani, emphasized that his party will strengthen strategic programs, including the provision of early detection facilities and supportive services for cancer patients and their families.

"We will continue to strengthen collaboration with the government, medical personnel, communities, volunteers, and cadres to create people who care about cancer. One of our missions is to provide supportive services for cancer patients in Indonesia, especially Jakarta," explained Hani.

He emphasized that cross-sectoral support is needed so that the YKI program reaches all levels of society. "Hopefully YKI DKI Jakarta Branch can be a hope for cancer patients and their families, as well as make a real contribution to the development of a healthier and more caring Jakarta," he continued.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is currently developing a number of cancer management programs, ranging from free screening, cancer alert education, HPV vaccination for school children, to palliative services that are integrated with the White Forces and the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic facilities at referral hospitals.
