MRT Phase 2A Project, DKI Provincial Government Implements Traffic Engineering In Glodok And City

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has updated traffic engineering due to the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project which is now in the construction of Glodok Station and City Station.

In addition to the construction of two stations, construction of 690 meters of tunnel construction was also carried out, with a total length of about 1.4 kilometers from Mangga Besar to Kota Tua. This traffic engineering will take place from August 21, 2025 to March 12, 2026.

"This needs to be done as part of the work stages at the two stations which are part of the CP 203 contract package phase 2A MRT Jakarta," said Plt. Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Ahmad Pratomo in his statement, Thursday, August 21.

Details of changes in traffic flow are:

1. Period 21 August 2025 to 20 September 2025

The construction area will be on Jalan Hayam Wuruk. Traffic engineering in the Glodok Station area from the south (Mangga Besar) to the north (the direction of Kota Tua), which was previously on Jalan Hayam Wuruk, was returned to Jalan Gajah Mada, with a configuration of 3 regular lanes and 1 mixed traffic along with Trans Jakarta on the right.

Traffic engineering in the Glodok Station area from the north (Kota Tua) to the south (direction of Mangga Besar), which was previously Hayam Wuruk Street, was diverted to Gajah Mada Street, with a configuration of 2 regular lanes and 1 mixed traffic lane along with Transjakarta on the right.

On the east side, Jalan Hayam Wuruk is used as an access road for vehicles for residents and visitors to the east side buildings.

2. Period 21 September 2025 to 12 March 2026

The construction area will be on Jalan Hayam Wuruk. Traffic engineering in the Glodok Station area to the north (direction to Kota Tua) and vice versa to the south (direction to Mangga Besar) remains at Jalan Gajah Mada.

On the east side of Jalan Hayam Wuruk, it still functions as an access road for vehicles for residents and visitors on East side buildings, but there is a shift with configurations according to the needs of the construction work area.

3. Period 21 August 2025 to 15 November 2025

The construction area will be on the west side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan and on the south side of Plaza BEOS Kota Tua. Traffic engineering for the public in the area around the City Station construction work continues to use configurations on previous stage traffic engineering.

Traffic from the south (Glodok) to the north (direction to Kota Tua) and/or west (direction to Pesing) remains via Jalan Pancoran, Jalan Pintu Kecil, and so on.

Meanwhile, traffic from the north (City) and east (Mangga Dua) to the south (Glodok direction) remains via Jalan Pinangsia and Jalan Hayam Wuruk. Traffic on Jalan Pinangsia is still applied in one direction to the south (Glodok direction).

Traffic engineering on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan remains specifically for TransJakarta, residents and shop consumers on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan.

However, if there is a traffic density, especially on Jalan Pancoran, then Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan will be opened to the public on a website basis.

Traffic engineering to inside Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan in the two directions previously on the west side will be diverted to the East side, with a configuration of one lane to the south and one lane to the north.

On the West side, Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan remains limited for access to small vehicles for residents and visitors to buildings, from the south to the north.

In the intersection area of Jalan Jembatan Batu and Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, there will be a narrowing on Jalan Jembatan Batu to 2 lanes each for both directions in the intersection area.

4. Period 16 November 2025 to 15 January 2026

1. The construction area will be on the west side and the east side of the South Large Gate road and in the South side of Plaza BEOS Kota Tua.

Traffic engineering to the public in the area around the Kota Station construction work remains in use of configurations on the previous stage.

Vehicle traffic on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan from the south (Glodok) to the north (the direction of Kota Tua) will use the west side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, traffic will be diverted according to the configuration of the construction work area. Vehicles will exit the west side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan.

Vehicle traffic on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan from the north (Kota Tua) to the south (direction of Glodok) will use the east side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, traffic will be diverted according to the configuration of the construction work area. Vehicles will exit the west side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan.

On the west side of Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan remains limited for small vehicles for residents and visitors to buildings, from the south to the north.

The intersection area of Jembatan Batu road and Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, still uses the same configuration as the previous period.
