TANJUNG SELOR - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) has named a new suspect with the initials MP in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the BPSDM Kaltara building for the 2022-2023 budget year.

This case adds to a number of names suspected of being involved in the corruption crime.

The head of the North Kalimantan Attorney General's Office, I Made Sudarmawan, said that the suspect MP was the main actor in the arrangement to win the tender for the construction of the two-stage Kaltara BPSDM building with a total contract value of around Rp. 13 billion.

"MP is suspected of having received a fee of IDR 1.5 billion from the project budget of IDR 8.6 billion which should have been used for the construction of the BPSDM building," said I Made Sudarmawan, Tuesday (19/8/2025).

"Currently we are still investigating who received and paid a fee on the tender winner's arrangement," he added.

I Made Sudarmawan said that the determination of this additional suspect was in accordance with sufficient evidence or Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code. "We will continue to develop this case," he said.

Earlier on Thursday, August 14, the Kaltara Attorney General's Office had named four other suspects, namely ARLT, HA, AKS, and MS.

Although he has not disclosed the details of the positions of the suspects, the Attorney General's Office ensures that the project is problematic from the start. For example, work that does not meet the technical specifications and reference documents listed in the Budget Plan (RAB).

"Reports on the progress of work are also said to have never been conveyed properly," he explained.

When the progress is far from the target, the contract should be terminated. But the project continued until finally the building was not completed one hundred percent," he concluded.
