Pramono Shocked, 45 Percent Applicants Of Firefighters From Outside Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung received an initial report on the registration of firefighters (damkar) with a quota of 1,000 people who have now passed the administrative selection.

Pramono was shocked, it turned out that almost half of the tens of thousands of firefighters were residents outside Jakarta.

"What surprised me personally was that those who were looking for work outside Jakarta were quite high, above 45 percent," said Pramono at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Tuesday, August 19.

From this condition, the problem of employment, especially the high unemployment rate, is not only experienced by Jakarta residents, but other areas that also expect jobs in the capital city.

"For this 1,000 vacancies, I apologize for the priority of course for Jakarta residents. Indeed, if Jakarta residents do not fulfill it, then open space for residents outside Jakarta," said Pramono.

Pramono revealed that there were 24,405 applicants for the position of officers at the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat). In the administrative selection, only 17 percent of applicants were declared qualified.

"From the administrative process that passed approximately 4,200 or 17 percent of the figures that yesterday registered. That is what we will then process immediately and finalize," he said.

After the administrative selection, the registration documents and requirements were carried out on August 19-22 2025, and the announcement of document proof on August 25.

Applicants who pass the administrative selection will undergo physical tests from August 26 to September 17, 2025.

Physical tests will be carried out by Kodam Jaya, located at Brigif 1/Jaya Sakti, Kalisari, East Jakarta. At this stage, applicants will undergo a physical fitness test A (run 12 minutes), freshness of Jasmani B (pull up, sit up, push up, shuttle run), posture (height and weight, body anatomy, appearance), and 25 meters of swimming.

After that, the DKI Gulkarmat Service will announce 1,000 applicants who passed the selection on September 18, 2025, followed by the signing of the work contract on October 1, 2025.
