JAKARTA - Most areas of Jakarta were hit by rain this morning. As a result, rush hour traffic became increasingly congested. Several Transjakarta services were disrupted due to the conditions.
Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department for Transjakarta, stated that Transjakarta has deployed officers at congestion points to help ease congestion and ensure a smoother journey for customers.
"We apologize for the inconvenience experienced while using Transjakarta services this morning. We continue to strive to provide safe and comfortable service for all customers," Ayu said in a statement on Tuesday, August 19.
Transjakarta services that were disrupted included:
1. Corridor 13: Congestion occurred from Puri Beta to Petukangan (Tegal Mampang). To anticipate the surge in passengers, Transjakarta has strengthened operations on the Tegal Mampang - JORR route.
2. UKI, Cawang, and surrounding areas: Heavy traffic in the UKI area towards BNN and Tanjung Priok, resulting in bus queues at the Cawang Sentral bus stop. In addition, excavation work is underway at Penas Kalimalang, impacting routes 7, 9, and 10, as well as several non-BRT routes such as 5C, 7C, 7D, 7P, 7W, 9A, 9C, D11, and JAK75.
3. Halim Toll Road: Congestion at the Halim Toll exit is affecting the operation of routes B11, B21, B41, and 7P.
4. Congestion has also been reported in the Pemuda Rawamangun area (impacting routes 4C, 4D, 4K), Pondok Indah (routes 8, S21, JAK.102), and Palmerah (routes 8C and 9E).
"To get the latest information about Transjakarta services, customers can access the TJ: Transjakarta app or through Transjakarta's social media," explained Ayu.
