BMKG: Light Rain Dominates Indonesia, A Number Of Cloudy Cities Are Thick

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that Indonesia was dominated by light rain on Thursday, August 14, followed by the most thick clouds in a number of big cities.

BMKG Miftah Ali weather forecasters said, for Sumatra, Banda Aceh and Padang are expected to be thick cloudy, then light rain is expected to occur in Pekanbaru and Tanjung Pinang. Meanwhile, rain with moderate intensity is expected to occur in Medan City.

Then, Palembang is estimated to be thick cloudy, then light rain is expected to fall in Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.

"Be aware of the rain accompanied by lightning that is expected to occur in Jambi City," said Miftah, quoted by ANTARA.

As for Java, Yogyakarta is expected to be cloudy, then Jakarta and Surabaya are expected to be thick cloudy, then light rain is expected to occur in Bandung and Semarang. In addition, rain with moderate intensity is expected to fall in Serang.

In the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, it is estimated that it will be cloudy in Kupang, then, Mataram and Denpasar are expected to be cloudy.

For Kalimantan Island, Banjarmasin City is expected to be cloudy, then Samarinda is expected to be thick cloudy, then light rain is estimated in Pontianak City and Palangka Raya.

He also reminded to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning that is expected to occur in Tanjung Selor City.

On the islands of Sulawesi, Manado and Makassar, the potential for cloudy, Gorontalo and Kendari is expected to be thick cloudy, then light rain is expected to fall in Palu, as well as rain with moderate intensity which is expected to fall in Mamuju.
