JABAR - Former Mayor (Walkot) of Cirebon Nashrudin Azis was examined as a witness related to the investigation into the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Cirebon Regional Secretariat Building (Setda).
Head of the Cirebon City District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Muhamad Hamdan said the examination was carried out to complete the statements of witnesses who were considered to be aware of the building construction process.
He mentioned that the total number of witnesses who have been examined at this time is more than 50 people related to the technical construction project of the building.
"Yesterday's former mayor, we also examined him as a witness, we asked for information. Anyway, all those who play a role and have an active role in the construction of the Regional Secretariat Building, we ask for their statements," he said in a statement, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.
Currently, his party has received the results of an audit from the Bandung State Polytechnic (Polban) to complete the findings of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
The two audit results, he said, will be combined to get a comprehensive picture of the problems in the building.
"We combine it with the BPK audit so that all problems in this building are clear. We will officially convey it at the end of August 2025 (including the determination of the suspect)," he said.
Hamdan admitted that the investigation took a long time because he had to trace the incident since 2016. Building construction complexity is also a challenge in physical examination and collection of evidence.
According to him, these obstacles made the investigative team careful in ensuring that all parties involved could be held accountable.
"I make sure that all those involved in this case must be held accountable," he said.

Previously, in November 2024, the Cirebon City Prosecutor's Office conducted a physical examination of the Regional Secretariat Building as part of the investigation stage of the alleged corruption case.
At that time, Head of the Intelligence Section of the Cirebon City Kejari, Slamet Haryadi, said that physical examinations were focused on the quality of building construction, especially in the basement area, by deploying a team of experts.
He said the investigation of this case began with the findings of the BPK, related to allegations of discrepancies in the project budget and public reports.
The building construction project, which began in 2016 using a budget of around Rp. 86 billion from the Cirebon City APBD, was supposed to be completed in 2017, but only completed in 2018.
BPK's findings show a late fine, around Rp. 11 billion which was not followed up.
The Cirebon City Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the investigation process is still ongoing and until now no potential suspects have been named.
