JAKARTA Deputy Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (Wamen P2MI) Christina Aryani said the People's School program was an extraordinary initiative from President Prabowo Subianto because it gave children hope and opportunity to achieve a better future.
"The education of children is very important, so that they have hopes and opportunities to have a better life later," said Christina after visiting the First Junior High School 6 East Jakarta, Monday, (11/8/2025).
During the visit, Christina had a dialogue and motivated 75 students, as well as distributed milk and breakfast. He also took the time to visit a student who was being treated at the school health unit.
Christina was present with Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono and the teaching staff at the school who became one of President Prabowo's flagship programs.
"For them, education was previously just hope or wishful thinking. The President gave access to children from underprivileged families to go to school," said the former member of the DPR.
As an official who also focuses on the issue of migrant workers, Christina hopes that People's Schools can target children from families of migrant workers whose parents work abroad.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono said the People's School was the President's order to ensure that all Indonesian children, including the underprivileged, could attend school.
"This people's school is a bridge for students to realize their dreams," said Agus.
He said that his party continues to evaluate the implementation of People's Schools throughout Indonesia, including technical aspects of learning, dormitories, and the provision of food.
The Principal of the First Junior High School 6 East Jakarta, Regulation Sutrastro, said the student character began to form after three weeks of learning.
"This regularity pattern will foster discipline and make them better students with the talents and interests we develop at this school," he said.
The First Junior High School 6 East Jakarta currently accommodates 75 students who live in dormitories, consisting of 40 students and 35 students. They are prohibited from carrying cell phones and communicating with their families through foster guardians from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
