Deputy Commander Of The TNI-6 New Kodam To Be Confirmed By Prabowo In Batujajar

BANDUNG - President Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to lead the Military Operations and Honorary Forces Ceremony on Sunday (10/8) at the Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, West Bandung. Prabowo will inaugurate six new Kodams, up to the inauguration of the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen), Major General Kristomei Sianturi, after the ceremony's rehearsal in Batujajar, said the two strategic steps were included in the TNI's massive structural steps, including the formation of 20 Territorial Infantry Brigades, and 100 Development Territorial Infantry Battalions which will also be carried out at that moment.

"The ceremony will involve 27,394 soldiers from all TNI dimensions, as well as defense equipment titles consisting of 152 tactical vehicles and 124 units of combat demonstration defense equipment from the Indonesian Army, Navy, and Air Force. President Prabowo will be present at the inauguration of troops, inauguration of high-ranking officers, as well as providing direction to all unit commanders from the battalion level to the top," Kristomei said at the location, Friday, August 8.

Field Coordinator of the Ceremony of the Title of Military Operations and Honorary Forces, Major General TNI Agus Hadiwaluyo, at the same location, explained that the title of this troop is a tangible manifestation of the President's Astacita, especially in the field of defense, which emphasizes independence, military technology excellence, and national preparedness.

"This is a concrete manifestation of the President's commitment to strengthening the state's defense posture through inter-dimensional synergy," said Agus.

Regarding the inauguration of the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Kreistomei said that it would be held at the same event directly by the president, but he did not reveal who would be inaugurated.

"To, who will it be? We are waiting for the 10th, anyone who receives a direct call by President Prabowo Subianto to be sworn in," said Kristomei.

In the event, Kristomei said there would be a gift of special rank of honor and magic stars to TNI Soldiers who were dedicated, with high integrity while on duty.

The ceremony will also feature demonstrations of combat capabilities from TNI soldiers, as well as the latest defense equipment titles from the three dimensions consisting of 34 units of the Indonesian Army, 24 units of the Indonesian Navy, and 66 units of the Indonesian Air Force.

The formation of the New Kodam, a new unit, and a change in the structure of the new rank which will be confirmed in this moment is based on Presidential Decree No. 84 of 2025 concerning the Indonesian National Armed Forces Organization (TNI).

As for those to be confirmed in the ceremony, among others, six new Kodam consisting of:

1. Kodam XIX/Mrku Tambusai Riau and Riau Islands

2. Kodam XX/Mrku Imam Bonjol West Sumatra and Jambi

3. Kodam XXI/Radin Inten Lampung and Bengkulu

4. Kodam XXII/Tambun Bungai Central and South Kalimantan

5. Kodam XXIII/Palaka Wira Central and West Sulawesi

6. Kodam XXIV/Mandala Trikora South Papua (centralized in Merauke)

In addition, the ceremony will also inaugurate 20 Indonesian Development Infantry Brigades (Brigif TP) under the Army in all parts of Indonesia, namely in Sumatra 6 units, Java 3 units, Kalimantan 3 units, Balinusra 1 unit, Sulawesi 2 units, Maluku 1 unit, and Papua 4 units.

Then 100 Development Territorial Infantry Battalions (Yonif TP) as a new territorial defense force under the Army

The restructuring also touched the high command level in the three TNI dimensions with an increase in command status from two to three stars, as well as additional troops.

TNI AD: Danjen Kopassus rose to become Kopassus Commander, as well as the formation of 6 Kopassus Groups.

TNI AL: Dankormar rose to become Commander of the Marine Corps, as well as the establishment of 14 Indonesian Navy Regional Commands (Kodairal) and 5 Marine Infantry Assistance Battalions (Yonif Mar).

Indonesian Air Force: Danjen Kopasgat was upgraded to Panglima Kopasgat, inauguration of Kohanudnas, establishment of 3 Regional Commands of the Indonesian Air Force (Kodau), as well as several battalions of Parakopasgat and Arhanud Pasgat.
