The Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office involved the Mataram District Attorney (Kejari) in investigating cases of alleged corruption in the procurement of Chromebook laptops within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

"Jampidsus does not only involve investigators at the Round Building, but also fellow investigators in several areas because the procurement is almost throughout Indonesia," said Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum), Anang Supriatna, in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, August 8.

According to Anang, the involvement of the Kejari was carried out due to the limited number of investigators within Jampidsus. Therefore, the prosecutor's office in the regions was given an official order to participate in handling the case.

It is known that the Attorney General's Office is investigating allegations of corruption in the education digitization program of the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 2019-2022 period. In this case, four people have been named as suspects, namely JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff of the Minister of Education and Culture 2020-2024, IBAM (Ibrahim Arief) a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) Director of Elementary School 2020 2021, and MUL (Mulyatsyah) Director of Junior High School 2020 2021.

On the other hand, the Mataram Kejari is also investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of Chromebook laptops in the 2022 to 2024 budget year which uses the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) at the Mataram City Education and Culture Office.

Head of the Mataram Kejari Intelligence Section, Harun Al Rasyid said, apart from Chromebooks, procurement also includes smart boards or smart whiteboards to support information technology-based learning processes.

Based on Kejari data, in 2022 procurement will be carried out for 25 elementary schools with a project value of Rp. 3.1 billion. In 2023, procurement will be carried out in 13 schools with a budget of Rp. 1.6 billion, and in 2024 the project will be continued for two elementary schools with a budget of Rp. 199 million.
