JAKARTA - The meeting place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump has been agreed and will be announced later, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said.
"We have started discussing such meeting parameters and their venues together with our American counterparts now," Ushakov said.
"By the way, I want to say that the place (Putin-Trump meeting) has also been agreed in principle and will be announced later," he added.
Ushakov himself said Russia began to inform its friends and partners about the results of President Putin's meeting with Witkoff.
"Everyone already knows that yesterday, as soon as Witkoff's report, President Trump contacted a number of Europe's leading partners and discussed the matter with them," he said.
"I want to note, we are also going through the right channels, have started to inform our closest partners and friends about the issues discussed during the meeting with Witkoff," Ushakov added.
Earlier, President Putin and President Trump were due to meet in the near future, following a meeting between the Russian leader and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff at the Kremlin on Wednesday which was considered constructive by both sides.
"On the American side's proposal, an agreement has basically been reached to hold the highest-level bilateral meeting in the coming days, namely a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump," Ushakov said.
