JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that the plan for treatment and treatment of Gaza Strip residents in Indonesia remains based on the approval of the relevant parties, as well as the number of 1,000 people.

Speaking to reporters at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Sugiono said, regarding Indonesia's willingness to treat and care for injured Gazans, especially children, women and parents, President Prabowo Subianto had conveyed a visit to a number of countries.

"With a note, all parties agree. The process is still ongoing," explained the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Thursday, August 7.

"He spoke with several Middle Eastern Leaders. We have to prepare technical things, so at any time they are implemented, we are ready," he said.

"We are willing to treat up to 1,000 children or injured victims who need medical treatment. Of course, with the approval of all related parties, neighboring countries, Jordan, Egypt, and of course the Palestinian Authority," said the Indonesian Foreign Minister.

Related to that, the Foreign Minister said that Indonesia continues to make preparations, prepare alternative locations where treatment can be carried out.

"One alternative is Galang Island. We are still looking for it. Yesterday the President mentioned Galang Island, we are looking at it, because it has been used for COVID-19 treatment, so the infrastructure is already there," explained Foreign Minister Sugiono.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that everything is still in the process stage, not too far away from finalization, including the issue of funding to the number of health workers involved and the technicalities.

Regarding the ministry that will be involved, Foreign Minister Sugiono said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health.

As previously reported, Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi said President Prabowo Subianto gave directions to provide treatment services for around 2,000 Gazans who were injured in the war. The treatment location is planned for Galang Island, Riau Islands.
