Meet Pramono, Minister Of Imipas Asks To Help Market MSME Products For Inmates

JAKARTA - Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto met with DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to DKI Jakarta City Hall.

During the meeting, Agus asked the DKI Provincial Government to help market MSME products for inmates in correctional institutions (prisons) to be purchased by the people of Jakarta.

"Earlier, we reported that there were many MSME activities carried out by the inmates. We ask for support to support marketing and so on," said Agus at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, August 7.

According to Agus, many of the products of the inmates are no less competitive with the production of other MSME industries. Starting from cakes, paintings, paving blocks, to miniature housing.

Bahkan, Agus pun berharap produk tersebut juga bisa dimanfaatkan oleh para pengembang di Jakarta untuk mengembangkan usahanya.

"Because whatever products are products (MSMEs) made by friends of the Inmates, this is a shame if they are not marketed. That's why communication (support) is needed from all parties, from local governments with entrepreneurs, to be able to accommodate correctional products to the community," explained Agus.

"Don't buy it out of pity, because they also make these products with sincerity," he continued.

In addition, Agus also offered land for correctional institutions, detention centers, and protection hospitals in Cipinang, East Jakarta to be exchanged for assets belonging to the DKI Provincial Government.

If Pramono agrees, Agus will also ask for the assets of the DKI Provincial Government which will later become the location for the relocation of Cipinang Prison to be placed on larger land. "We ask for support for the possibility in Cipinang, we are diverted to another wider place," he said.

According to Agus, by using the prison owned by the Ministry of Imipas, the DKI Provincial Government can develop the economic activities of Jakarta residents which are quite strategic.

"We also open up opportunities for the DKI government with our assets in Cipinang, he is pleased to develop from the economic aspect of the Cipinang area," said Agus.

Continuing, Pramono admitted that he would provide support regarding what Agus asked and offered to the DKI Provincial Government.

"Because I believe that what the Minister proposed will definitely provide a lot of benefits for Jakarta itself, for the inmates, and have a program that will later be directed by the President. Yes, we will provide support (support) for that, fully support," concluded Pramono.
