JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed that West Java is still the province with the highest circulation of online gambling money or judol in Indonesia. During the January-June 2025 period, West Java recorded a total deposit of online gambling reaching IDR 2.46 trillion.
The second position is occupied by the Special Region of Jakarta Province with a deposit value of IDR 2.13 trillion. Central Java is in third place with a deposit value of IDR 1.60 trillion.
PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana said the provinces on the island of Java still dominate as the origin of the circulation of online gambling funds in Indonesia. West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java to Banten are still the areas with the highest judol transactions since 2017.
He said that the circulation of funds in Jakarta, West Java and other areas continued to change all the time. However, West Java can be said to be consistently ranked at the top in judol transactions in recent years.
"The area is racing, when viewed from 2017. Jakarta does not always have to be above, West Java has also been below. Now in 2019 West Java will increase, then increase again in 2020," Ivan said in his statement, Thursday, August 7.
PPATK Public Relations Substance Group Coordinator M Natsir Kongah said the highest judol transactions on the island of Java, one of which was due to the ease of internet access. In addition, the internet network has smoothly paved the way for online gambling to be transacted.
He also observed West Java, Jakarta and Central Java taking turns as regions originating the circulation of online gambling funds. This finding is in line with internet penetration on the island of Java which is higher than other islands in Indonesia.

Apart from the distribution of judol funds, Natsir is sad to see the online gambling phenomenon, especially those that ensnare low-income people (MBR).
The total number of online gambling players in 2023 is 3.8 million, with an income below IDR 5 million per month of 3.04 million people or 80% of the total number of judol players.
Then in 2024, the total number of online gambling players is 9.7 million with an income below Rp. 5 million as much as 6.92 million or 70.7%. In the first half of 2025, the number of online gambling players was recorded at 3.1 million with an income community below Rp. 5 million as much as 2.21 million or 71.6%.
"The most worrying thing between the income of Rp. 1 million of our brothers and sisters can use Rp. 700,000 for judol. So how does he meet his needs? he does online loans (pinjol), so many are struggling in the vicious circle," said Natsir.
Ivan also expressed his concern about the judol phenomenon, especially those carried out by low-income workers. Nearly 73% of their income is used for online gambling.
