Brigadier General Hengki Appointed As Banten Police Chief, Replace Inspector General Suyudi

BANTEN - The Indonesian National Police appointed Brigadier General Hengki as Head of the Banten Regional Police (Kapolda), replacing Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto who received a new assignment as a High Officer (Pati) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit outside the organizational structure.

The replacement is stated in the Telegram Letter of the National Police Chief Number ST/1764/VIII/KEP./2025 dated Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Didik Hariyanto, confirmed the rotation. According to him, mutations are part of the pattern of career development within the Police.

"It is true, according to the telegram letter of the National Police Chief, Brigadier General Hengki will serve as Banten Police Chief replacing Inspector General Suyudi who will occupy the position of Pati Bareskrim," said Didik when confirmed in Serang City, Antara, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Brigadier General Hengki previously served as Deputy Chief of the Banten Police and graduated from the Police Academy in 1995.

The position of Deputy Chief of the Banten Police will be filled by Kombes Hendra Wirawan, who previously served as Head of the Intelligence and Security Division of the National Police SSDM and graduated from the 1996 Police Academy.

Although it has not been announced specifically regarding the new position of Inspector General of Police Suyudi, Didik emphasized that this rotation is not sudden. Mutations, he said, are part of the organizational refreshment which is routinely carried out based on evaluation.

"He has served in Banten for more than a year. There are many things that have been done, including creating security stability in the jurisdiction of the Banten Police," he said.

A number of work programs from the previous leadership will also be evaluated by new leaders and have the potential to be continued if they prove effective.

"Later it will be seen. If the previous programs were good, the new Kapolda would definitely be fostered," said Didik.

He also highlighted the success of the previous Regional Police Chief in ensuring the smooth running of various major operations, including securing the flow of Eid homecoming.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly, and it showed solid performance from all levels," said Didik.

He closed the statement with the hope that the leadership of Brigadier General Pol Hengki would further strengthen the performance of the Police in the Banten area.

"This mutation is expected to improve organizational performance. We will continue to serve the community optimally," he concluded.
