ASN Ministry Of Religion Arrested By Densus 88, Secretary General: Untolerable

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Kamaruddin Amin confirmed that the Ministry of Religion's State Civil Apparatus (ASN) was arrested by members of Densus 88 for allegedly being involved in terrorism.

"I have received a report from the Head of the Regional Office of the Aceh Province regarding the existence of an ASN with the initials MZ who was arrested by Densus 88 for allegedly being involved in the terrorism movement," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion Kamaruddin Amin, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 6.

Kamaruddin said the Ministry of Religion supports the move by Densus 88 to arrest ASN suspected of being involved in terrorism, of course, while still prioritizing the principle of presumption of innocence. The ASN is a Civil Servant (PNS) at the Aceh Ministry of Religion Regional Office.

Currently, said Kamaruddin, his party is waiting for an official statement from Densus 88 regarding the alleged involvement of ASN Ministry of Religion in the terrorism movement. The Ministry of Religion will also cooperate if Densus 88 in the law enforcement process requires information from the Ministry of Religion.

"The Ministry of Religion is the leading sector for strengthening religious moderation. Of course, we cannot tolerate the involvement of ASN Ministry of Religion in the terrorism movement. We will give severe sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations," said Kamaruddin Amin.

In the future, according to him, the Ministry of Religion will strengthen efforts to prevent the involvement of ASN in the terrorism movement. Strengthening religious moderation is the key as well as internalizing the Cinta Curriculum.

"To all ASN Ministry of Religion, I ask to continue to increase the spirit of nationalism and love for the Republic of Indonesia. Here we are born and grown. It is our obligation to protect it until the end of our lives," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion Kamaruddin Amin.
