JAKARTA - Residents' houses in the Lubang Buaya area, Cipayung, East Jakarta were damaged by landslides.
The damaged part of the house was the wall of the room because it was broken by a landslide. The incident occurred on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The owner of the house, Nyai (37), said the incident occurred at around 17.00 WIB, when heavy rains flushed the area.
"The landslide occurred yesterday at around 17.00 WIN, when it rained big, at that time my son and I were resting in the room," said Nyai when met, Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
According to Nyai, before the wall broke, he was woken up by his younger brother who told him that the front of his house was already flooded.
"My sister worked together to let me know outside the flood, when I returned to my room, the wall broke, it broke, the water and the ground came out and all collapsed," he said.

He heard a loud roar before the wall collapsed, but initially thought it was just the sound of the air conditioning machine (AC).
"Thank God there were no victims, I immediately pulled my child out when the wall broke," he said.
Nyai suspects that the wall broke because the water was seeping through the gap between the walls of his house and the neighbor's house.
"Maybe because this building has been around for a long time, it has been years, then from above it continues to rain so there are gaps between buildings, maybe it takes a long time," he said.
He also said that rainwater did not flow into the canal because the house of his neighbor was taller and did not have a water flood.
"It's true that there is no bailout, there is communication, because the water spills immediately, they think it's just rainwater, if it rains it just enters (to the gap in the house)," he said.
