Struggling To Park At Central Jakarta Mall, Men Claim To Be Police Suddenly Viral On Social Media

JAKARTA - A Fortuner driver in a black shirt claiming to be a police officer suddenly went viral on Instagram social media. The man claimed to be a police officer after being involved in an argument with a car driver at a mall in the Central Jakarta area.

"I am a police officer. How can you see," said the man in the shirt, scaring the car driver, quoted Monday, August 4, 2025.

It is not clear what is meant in the video clip footage. The motive for the dispute is also unknown. However, the driver of the car who was asked to show something by the man admitted that the police immediately denied it.

"There is no right, sir. There is no right for you here," said the car driver.

However, based on the uploaded video, it was stated that the perpetrator, who claimed to be a police officer, asked the car driver for a vehicle letter.

"In the video, a man claiming to be a member of the police is seen forcing him to ask for a motor vehicle letter from the driver who parked at the mall," the caption reads.

Meanwhile, according to information, the man admitted that the police were suspected of being a Fortuner driver who was fighting over the parking lot with a video recorder car.

"But I suddenly closed it because there was a corner, so he chased my car like this," wrote the caption in the upload.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Ruslan, said that his party would check the information.

"Please time, I asked the Tanah Abang Police," he briefly confirmed, Monday, August 4.
