Retired As Secretary General, Muzani Appointed Prabowo As Secretary Of The Gerindra Party's Board Of Trustees

JAKARTA - Ahmad Muzani officially retired as Secretary General of the Gerindra Party DPP. Starting today, the position of secretary general of Gerindra will be filled by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono.

Muzani said Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto had signed a decree to change the position of secretary general from himself to Sugiono at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java.

As is known, Prabowo Subianto was re-appointed as the General Chair of the Gerindra Party until 2030 at the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) last February.

Information on the replacement of the secretary general was revealed directly by Muzani through his personal Instagram account @ahmadmuzani2 which was uploaded on Friday, August 1, afternoon.

"Today, Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Garuda Yaksa Padepokan, Hambalang, Bogor. The General Chair/Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, has signed a decree appointing @sugiono_56 as Secretary General of the Gerindra Party," wrote Muzani.

For information, Muzani served as Secretary General of Gerindra for more than 17 years, since the founding of the party on February 6, 2008.

"And on August 1, 2025, Sugiono has been replaced," continued Muzani.

Muzani expressed his gratitude to the General Chairperson and Chair of the Gerindra Party DPP Board of Trustees, Prabowo Subianto and to all party cadres for their trust so far.

"I apologize if during my tenure as secretary general of the party there were mistakes, mistakes, and negligence that caused friends in arms to dislike," he said.

After serving as secretary general, Muzani said that Prabowo had been appointed as Secretary of the Gerindra Party's Board of Trustees, as well as Chairman of the Gerindra Party Honorary Council.

"Furthermore, the General Chairperson/Chairman of the Board of Trustees entrusted me to the position of Secretary of the Board of Trustees as well as Chairman of the Honorary Council," said Muzani.
