After The Om Mobi Eradication Case, Palembang City Government Tightens Security At Kuto Besak Fort

Palembang City Government, South Sumatra has tightened security in the Kuto Besak Fort (BKB) tourist area following the incident of burglary of Om Mobi's automotive Youtuber by a illegal parking attendant.

"The perpetrator has been arrested within 24 hours because this is related to the image of the city of Palembang," said the Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa, in Palembang, Antara, Monday, July 28.

Ratu Dewa said security was not only focused on BKB, but will also be increased at a number of other crowded points in Palembang. This was done to prevent similar cases from happening again.

"We are also increasing the synergy with the police and the TNI to strengthen security in this city," he said.

According to him, officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) are now on mobile alert, especially in the BKB area, one of the tourist icons that are often visited by tourists.

The burglary case was recorded in a video content uploaded by Om Mobi's Youtube account, last Sunday. In the video, a man can be seen approaching Om Mobi and his team while they are filming a car around the BKB area.

Even though he had previously paid official parking fees at the entrance, the man still asked for additional parking fees on the pretext of being voluntary.

The perpetrator was later identified as Zulfikar (34), a resident of Ilir Barat II, and has been secured by the Palembang Police.

"The parking attendant who harassed Youtuber at BKB has been arrested by the Palembang Police Pidum officers," said Acting Head of Palembang City Police, Herison.
