The Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto claimed to have received information about the prison sentence that the panel of judges would impose against him. He got this information since April.

"Because from the start, even a few days ago, I had known about the information related to 3.5 years to 4 years. Since April," said Hasto at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, July 25.

The decision was also allegedly due to pressure related to power. Hasto said this was unavoidable

However, Hasto said that he would immediately take anticipatory steps by studying law majors.

"Last June I was accepted as a law graduate student. Because I calculated it. Calculating that in April I was aware of the demands, there was such a sentence," he said.

Hasto stated that he accepted the decision. However, in the context of legal injustice.

"That's why regarding the decision earlier, I accept that in the context that this is injustice," said Hasto.

In this case, Hasto was found guilty of giving bribes together and continuing. The panel of judges sentenced Hasto to 3.5 years in prison.

In addition to imprisonment, the panel of judges also imposed a fine on Hasto Kristiyanto of Rp250 million.

The criminal fine is imposed on the condition that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for three months.

"The defendant Hasto Kristiyanto has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison," said Judge Rios.

Hasto was proven to have violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
