Police Confiscate 20 CCTV Footages, Including When Diplomat Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Buys Yellow Lakban

JAKARTA - The police confiscated CCTV camera footage at 20 points in an effort to reveal the cause of the death of the Deputy Expert Diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Ary Daru Pangayunan. One of them is footage showing buying yellow duct tape in a shopping center.

"At least investigators have taken footage of 20 CCTV points," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Thursday, July 24.

Dozens of CCTV footage points have been obtained by investigators ranging from the boarding house environment to the place Ary Daru Pangayunan visited, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office.

The footage not only shows the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomats the day before being found dead but for up to a week.

"Starting from the smallest circle from the crime scene, namely the victim's boarding house environment. Then several places that have been visited by the victim for the last 7 days, yes. Then also the locations where the victim works," he said.

One of the recordings was taken from a shopping center. There, Ary Daru Pangayunan shopped for several items, including yellow duct tape.

"Yes, there are 20 CCTV points, yes. That includes (in shopping centers)," said Ade.

From the CCTV footage, it was revealed that Ary Daru Pangayunan was on the rooftop of his office the day before being found dead in his boarding house. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomat spent 1 hour 26 minutes on the building's highest floor.

"It is suspected that July 7, 2025, hours 21.43 to 23.09 or about 1 hour 26 minutes. It is suspected that the victim was on the roof of the 12th floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building," he said.

In addition, investigators also found out that Ary Daru Pangayunan was carrying a carrying bag and shopping bag when he went up to the building's highest floor. However, it was abandoned when the Foreign Ministry diplomat got off.

"Then when the victim got off, the victim was no longer carrying a bag and shopping bag," said Ade.

Arya Daru Pangayunan was found dead in the 'Gues House Gondia' in the 105th room, Jalan Gondangdia Kecil, No 22, Cikini Village, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

When found, the body of Arya Daru Pangayunan was covered in plastic and duct tape in yellow. Currently, the cause of death is unknown.
