JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the Online Judi Eradication Task Force to take firm action against the rampant practice of online gambling (judol) in the capital city.

This call emerged following data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) which stated that as many as 600 thousand Jakarta residents were involved in the activity.

"It must be that Jakarta is one of the provinces with a fairly large judol. We actually asked to suggest that this matter related to judol be taken decisive action," said Pramono at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, July 24.

Pramono also stated that he had ordered the DKI Inspectorate to request data from the PPATK regarding who the state civil servants (ASN) in the DKI Provincial Government are suspected of playing online gambling.

"Regarding the Jakarta government, I have ordered the Inspectorate to ask for data from the PPATK who is involved in the judol," he said.

After obtaining the data, Pramono said that the DKI Provincial Government would provide guidance to ASN who were proven to be involved. However, if violations continue, strict sanctions will be given, including freezing the promotion.

If they are involved in judol, of course I ask for guidance. If it can still be repaired, it will be corrected. If not, that's it. There will definitely be sanctions. One of the sanctions that will be given is that we will never promote it," he said.

Previously, PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana explained that Jakarta was the province with the largest number of online gambling players in Indonesia. This was conveyed by him at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PPATK and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) in 2025.

"When talking about online gambling, the most are DKI Jakarta, sir. Did you ask, how many are online gambling players? It's only 600 thousand online gambling players in DKI Jakarta," Ivan said in front of the Governor of DKI.

He also noted that in the past year, the total transactions of online gambling deposits originating from Jakarta reached more than IDR 3 trillion, with the number of transactions reaching 17.5 million times.

"Then it's just a deposit, you're a resident and I'm sorry, there are also internal kinds of things," said Ivan.
