Make DKI BUMD Sponsor, Pramono: If Persija's Achievements Are Not Good, Don't Blame The Regional Government Again

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked Persija Jakarta football club to improve its achievements in order to make the capital city proud.

This is because Pramono has ordered a number of regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) of DKI to become sponsors to cooperate with Persija.

Pramono no longer wants to hear complaints from Persija over the lack of government support for the Kemayoran Tiger club to win in various competitions.

"Three BUMDs have signed (cooperation) with Persija, Bank Jakarta, PAM Jaya, and also Transjakarta. So if Persija's achievements are not good, don't blame the Jakarta Regional Government again," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, July 22.

In addition to sponsorship and collaboration with BUMD, Persija is also privileged by Pramono with various policies.

Starting from making Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) the headquarters, to viewing tax incentives of 60 percent per Persija competing in Jakarta.

"Persija Jakarta, which used to get less attention from the Jakarta Government. Currently, the Jakarta Government is paying full attention," said Pramono.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno also asked Persija to prove that they were able to become league champions.

This was said by Rano after the signing of sponsorship cooperation through the sports platform between Bank Jakarta and PT Persija Jaya Jakarta.

"Prove that you really deserve to be league champions. Jakmania has been waiting for Jakarta's glory in its own city for too long," said Rano at Menteng Park, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

Rano hopes that Persija can appear consistent and win the title this season. Because, the last time Persija brought the trophy to City Hall was after winning Liga 1 in 2018 and the 2021 Menpora Cup.

The DKI Provincial Government, he continued, is ready to encourage dozens of other BUMDs to cooperate with Persija, following what was done with Bank Jakarta.

"Hopefully Persija can focus and achieve maximum results. Hopefully in 2027 or 2026 he can become the champion. If Persija becomes the champion, extraordinary. It means that our target is achieved," said Rano.
