Iran Warns Its Citizens To Beware Of Israel's Mossad Recruitment Efforts

JAKARTA - Iran's Revolutionary Guard intelligence agency warned Iranians about increasing recruitment efforts by enemy intelligence agencies.

Involved in decades-long shadow war with Israel, which killed many military commanders and nuclear scientists in a 12-day air war in Iran last month, Iran is increasingly concerned about infiltration by Israel's Mossad intelligence agency.

Earlier, the Iranian government arrested more than 700 people on charges of being Israeli spies since June 13. Three of them were sentenced to death for espionage, Iran Fars news agency reports.

According to Iranian intelligence and security forces quoted by the news agency, the arrests were made in several provinces such as Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars and Loresan.

In addition to making arrests, Iran also executed three men accused of spying for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad at Urmia Prison in West Azerbaijan province on Wednesday, June 25.

The three men are said to have attempted to import hardware into Iran under the guise of sending alcohol into terrorist acts.
