Last Thursday, Jokowi Absent From Examination Of Defamation Cases Related To Fake Certificates

JAKARTA - The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), did not fulfill the summons for examination at the Polda Metro Jaya in handling cases of alleged defamation and fitness related to allegations of fake diplomas.

Investigators are known to have scheduled an examination of Jokowi as the reporter for the case on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Jokowi's attorney, Yakub Hasibuan, confirmed his client's absence because there were activities that could not be abandoned. However, his party has coordinated this matter.

"Last Thursday we wrote asking for a postponement because there was an agenda that could not be abandoned," said Yakub to VOI, Tuesday, July 22.

Regarding the timing of the next examination, Yakub could not confirm it. This is because the legal team is still trying to communicate to determine the time and technicality of taking information against Jokowi.

"For the next examination, we are still trying to ask for confirmation from investigators," said Yakub.

Previously, TPUA's attorney, Ahmad Khozinudin, who stated about Jokowi's absence from the examination at Polda Metro Jaya.

According to him, from the information obtained, Jokowi's absence from the summons for examination was due to illness.

"Actually, there has been a call to Joko Widodo to attend. It's time when I don't know. But Joko Widodo admitted that he was sick and asked to be re-scheduled," said Khozinudin.

However, that reason is considered very strange. Because, when he argued that he was sick, the 7th President was actually present at the opening of the PSI Congress in Solo on July 19.

"But strangely for the police summons he admitted that he was sick and could not attend the Polda Metro Jaya but he was present on the political agenda at the Indonesian Solidarity Party Congress," he said.
