Grandmother In Kotim Attacked By Crocodile When Wudhu In The River,

The crocodile attack on humans has occurred again in East Kotawaringin Regency (Kotim), Central Kalimantan, and this time it happened to a 62-year-old grandmother named Nursehan, a resident of Bagendang Permai Village, North Mentaya Hilir District.

"We received a report this morning, at around 05.00 WIB. The resident was attacked by a crocodile while taking ablution behind his house," said the Commander of the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Resort Sampit, Muriansyah, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 21.

The incident occurred in the Mentaya Watershed (DAS). The victim, who was ablution on the riverbank, was suddenly attacked by a crocodile.

The victim was dragged several meters from the initial location, before being rescued by residents who heard the victim's screams.

The victim suffered serious injuries to the right arm. Currently the victim is being treated at Dr Murjani Sampit Hospital.

"When viewed from the photo of the location of the attack and the injuries suffered by the victim, it is strongly suspected that the crocodile that attacked was an estuarine crocodile," he added.
