JAKARTA - Iran's Army Chief of Operations said a damaged air defense system during the substituted Israeli and US aggression war was deployed again, ensuring continued protection against the country's airspace.

Rear Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi said Iranian forces managed to secure the country's airspace by utilizing existing systems and installing new ones after the recent attacks.

He further revealed that one of the first targets in the 12-day war was the country's radar and air defense system.

"Criminal Zionist regimes are launching coward aggression against Iranian soil," said Laksda Mousavi, adding the enemy's goal was to destroy Iran's air defense capabilities, reported IRNA July 20.

He praised the efforts of the air defense forces carried out 24 hours a day, saying many systems were damaged but were immediately replaced and deployed at designated locations.

"We managed to protect the country's airspace and the enemy failed to achieve its goals despite trying desperately," he explained.

Laksda Mousavi also highlighted the achievements of the Armed Forces during the war, saying their performance reaffirmed Iran's defense readiness and determination to respond to external threats.

Israel attacked Iran in aggression titled "Raising Lion" on June 13, which it said targeted nuclear and military facilities, killing military commanders and nuclear scientists in directed attacks, and killing civilians in airstrikes in residential areas.

On June 22, the United States also joined the war and bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities. The war was halted on June 24 after the Tel Aviv regime demanded a ceasefire following a retaliatory missile strike by Iran.
